I walked away from Foxcroft Court’s Modern Calligraphy Class feeling refreshed. Five lovely women sat around me that morning taking in the tastefully artistic Ampersand Design Studio located in downtown Mission. Though strangers at first, these women soon revealed themselves to be creative entrepreneurs. Leaders. Creators. Bakers. Teachers. Artists. Our common thread was the vibrant Emily Wimer (owner of Foxcroft Court Calligraphy) who brought us all together in order to explore the art form she loves most: Calligraphy. My art teacher and photographer side were both perfectly content as I captured the morning and took part in the workshop. Everything from Sugar Chat’s flawlessly iced cookies to the jeweled studs donated from Stella and Dot to the curved swirls of the handwriting itself left my creative soul feeling nourished. Emily’s attention to detail did not go unnoticed. If you want to indulge in a few glorious hours of artistic pampering then make sure to enroll in one of Emily’s workshops before spots fill up. You will not regret it!
