Camping was never a part of my childhood the way it was for my husband. John is an Eagle Scout, so camping naturally comes along with the title. My first real camping experience happened in Colorado when I was a pre-teen. Looking back, my parents created a really awesome trip for us. I was just too young and not “outdoorsy” enough to appreciate it. We will however always live off the hilarious memories that ensued on that vacation.
Since marrying my husband, camping has been reintroduced to me. It only took one trip to Yellowstone to convince me that camping was the only way to experience the great outdoors. Since then we have also come to love a state park which is a little closer to us, Johnson Shut-ins. This trip we had the added pleasure of bringing some of John’s siblings with us. I’m so thankful they came because family makes everything more fun! Plus, I didn’t have to jump off cliffs and rocks because John had the guys for that. It was a short weekend, but I’ll always be happy to have these memories to think back on. Enjoy some of my favorites from the trip.
