Last week as I was driving to and from the wedding for my sister-in-law I kept passing by this area in the middle of the suburbia that was filled with beautiful yellow flowers. I wanted to stop. I wanted to get out of my car and walk around. But I just didn’t get the opportunity. In that moment though, I immediately thought of Austin and Alyssa’s maternity session that I had coming up. This magical little meadow became the inspirational backdrop for two friends that John and I love dearly.
We first met Austin and Alyssa at our church a few years ago. We immediately loved them! Have you ever just met people who seem to be in sync with you? Well, that’s exactly how we felt about these two. I can’t tell you how many game nights and dinners we’ve shared with them over the past few years. They are certainly the kind of friends that you don’t want to leave at the end of a fun night.
Back in December, (while John and I were secretly keeping our baby news from everyone but family) Alyssa sat down next to me and spilled her news that they were expecting a baby in August! It was one of those moments where we knew we just couldn’t keep our secret anymore. I called John over and we revealed that we were also expecting just a few weeks earlier. It has been such a joy to share this new season together.
We were so blessed by this opportunity to photograph our friends and even more blessed to have a friendship with them. Enjoy some of our favorites!
