Some photo shoots are an adventure. Maybe I’m hiking with someone to find the perfect location. Maybe I’m accepting the inclement weather and going forward with the session anyway. And sometimes there are four kiddos who have agendas that reach far beyond posing for a camera. Frogs. Throwing leaves. Playing in a creek. Skipping stones. Taking unknown paths. Fishing with a stick. These are the things kids live for. And for one brief moment I got to be a kid. I may have had a camera attached to my hand. But that didn’t stop me from being a part of the adventure, the discoveries, the fun. And when the adventure ends with a roll full of photos and a request from one of my little friends asking if I could babysit sometime…well…that’s when you know it was way more than a photo shoot.
